Warrior Luxe Gloves

We’re still waiting for Warrior’s 2011 line to come out but this is probably going to be the most anticipated protective line of the year with Zote foams incorporated into all of their top end offerings.

Players like Kostitsyn, Kovalev and Spezza are among a few players already spotted sporting a pair of these this season and we can’t wait to get our hands on a pair.

Also check out Matt Gilroy’s gloves with the extra padding on the back rolls.  All of the Rangers are on board with this new alteration to combat the bad string of hand injuries sustained earlier in the season.

Tampa Bay Lightning – New Logo & Jerseys

The Tampa Bay Lightning finally revealed their new logo and jerseys today after the original press conference date was postponed due to a tragic incident in the St. Petersburg area last week.  This will also mark the first time where a NHL team has introduced a new logo and jersey mid-way into the season.  The Lightning will still continue to wear their existing uniforms for the remainder of the year as well as debuting these brand new jerseys on February 4, 2011 against the Washington Capitals.

Gone are all traces of black and the iconic Lightning bolts on both sides of the pants.  These new uniforms have a very Detroit Red Wings feel to them (but blue/white instead of red/white of course) with a solid one color jersey and a stripe on each arm, one beneath the front crest, both sides of the pants and socks.  Can we say Steve Yzerman-inspired?

The gloves have also gone to a generic royal blue with white branding, very Vancouver Canucks-esque compared to the white/blue/black/grey color scheme before.  We’re not a huge fan of the front logo as it looks like something you can screen print yourself at your favorite local t-shirt store for a couple bucks and we still prefer the original Lightning as well as the updated Lightning bolt logo introduced a few years back.  But hey, at least they decided to scrap the ultra lame front numbers this time around.
