Vancouver Canucks/Rona Jersey Sponsorship

Posted in Gear Sightings, Jerseys with tags , , , , , , , on September 18, 2011 by prostocknation

The Vancouver Canucks opened up main camp today with a couple of sessions open to the general public.  This was an excellent opportunity to catch a first glimpse of what equipment the players will be using during this upcoming season.  The most significant change however, similar to the Toronto Maple Leafs, is the club now bears a patch on the right chest of their practice jerseys with the logo of their sponsor, Rona.

Eddie Lack (pictured below) is still sporting his familiar set of Brian’s Focus with the Lack (obviously) graphics.  From what we can see it’s identical to the set he wore at last year’s training camp and pre-season.  His attire essentially summed up everyone else skating at Rogers Arena today fairly well, not much has changed at all.  With players being such superstitious creatures it’s not surprising the majority of guys at camp are also sticking to what they used last year after such a productive campaign.

Less Than 12 Hours Away! Preview: Vancouver Canucks Equipment Sale 2011

Posted in Equipment Sales with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on July 11, 2011 by prostocknation

Welcome to ProStockNation.com’s exclusive preview of the Vancouver Canucks 2011 Equipment Sale.

Oh how things have changed.  If you have been to the Canucks’ sales in the past you might be thinking how different the pictures below look.  Sales went from being a huge annual 2-day excursion with loads of equipment scattered across the arena concourse to a single day event and now gear has been sold year round at the Canucks Outlet Store halfway across town.

The equipment sale this year will be housed in an area that’s about the same size as the average Downtown Vancouver studio suite.

You will find a wide variety of equipment from current and past seasons.  Contrary to our earlier reports, there will not be new stock brought out each day.  Stock is limited and everything will be on a first come first served basis.  There will be no limits on how much you can buy.  There are different price points for sticks.  These price points will be indicated by lists posted on the wall separated by tape.

Gloves will be scattered in several wire bins as well as on top of the sticks.

In the “goalie corner” you will find brand new and used gear from the likes of Roberto Luongo, Cory Schneider, Jason LaBarbera, Andrew Raycroft, and Michael Houser among others.

Skates are nicely laid out into two main sections… prehistoric (CCM Mustangs, Bauer Vapor 10, older CCM Tacks) and the present (more recent model skates.)

This is an equipment sale first!  Since this is a smaller sale the preparation was more precisely done than the previous ones.  Many of the skates will have a tag indicating the player, model name, and the size.  This will make finding your size much easier than the conventional methods of “guessing and checking” and looking underneath the insole/skate and praying for some sign of marking.

In the “premium corner” you will find game used equipment from the more popular players on the team such as the Henrik and Daniel Sedin, Ryan Kesler, and Alexandre Burrows.

If you go to the sale, please share with us what you picked up!

Canucks 2011 Equipment Sale (Cont’d)

Posted in Equipment Sales, ProStockNation.com Announcements with tags , , , , , , , on June 30, 2011 by prostocknation

As ProStockNation.com was first to report, the Vancouver Canucks Annual Equipment Sale will be held at the Outlet Store on Hastings starting on July 11, 2011.  We are surprised the Canucks have still yet to say anything about this sale online.

At their year-end clearance sale today they handed out flyers with a small advertisement on the back regarding the equipment sale.

There’s no new information other than some vague price points.  Expect the sticks starting at $100 to be at least 4 years old, $100 gloves with no palms left, and the $75 skates to be prehistoric.  There usually isn’t anything good until you spend a little more.

No early entries for Season Ticket Holders or Email List Members have been released yet but it’s safe to say at this point it will be a free for all once the Outlet doors open at 11am Monday morning.

Beware: COUNTERFEIT Canucks Jerseys Now Appearing In Size 46!

Posted in Counterfeit Jerseys with tags , , , , , on June 27, 2011 by prostocknation

For those of you still looking to purchase a Canucks jersey the counterfeiters have finally caught on.  They used to make knockoff jerseys in size 48 (Reebok does not make a Reebok Edge jersey in 48, just 46 or 50) and that was one of the easiest tell-tale signs but it appears size 46 fakes are now surfacing.

Here’s a few pictures from a Craigslist Ad…

Notice how it’s the same ugly knockoffs from before.  The white on the collar is way too thick, the color of the jersey is still slightly off and the outline around the Orca logo on the front is too big.

The shoulder patches still aren’t the correct shape and the lettering/numbering on the back is the wrong font.

Remember, if the price is too good to be true it probably is.  If you are unsure please drop us a line and we can help you out.
